Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of integrating the efforts of all government institutions to eradicate the scourge of drugs.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory stated in a press release that al-Aboudi met with the Director General of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate, Lieutenant General Ahmed al-Zarkani. The meeting involved a review of the data from the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate and its strategies to combat drugs domestically and internationally. Discussions also covered the contributions of institutions that support the Directorate’s work.
During the meeting, al-Aboudi stressed the need for a unified approach among all government institutions to combat drug sources and supply networks. He expressed the National Security Advisory’s readiness to provide necessary support and assistance to all executive and rehabilitation institutions working to protect Iraqi youth from drugs.
