National Security Advisor Discusses Anti-Corruption Measures and Weapons Control with Indian Ambassador

Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi affirmed that the government has taken practical measures to combat corruption and consolidate weapons under state control. The National Security Advisor's media office stated in a press release that "National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi received the Indian Ambassador to Baghdad, Somen Bagshi, on Sunday and discussed with him the development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the common interests of both nations and their friendly peoples."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, al-Aboudi pointed out that "conflicts and wars have affected the countries of the region in particular and the world in general, and their impact has been reflected in the economic and development programs of countries." He explained that "the government of Ali Falih al-Zaidi has taken important and practical measures to combat corruption and consolidate weapons under state control, in order to strengthen the country's security and stability and to create an attractive environment for investment," emphasizing that "economic security is part of the national security of countries."

For his part, the Indian Ambassador congratulated al-Aboudi on assuming his position, expressing "his government's keenness to establish economic and security relations with Iraq in a way that serves the common interests of both countries."
