Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi affirmed to the Indian Ambassador to Baghdad, Somin Bagshi, that the Iraqi government has taken practical measures to combat corruption and ensure that weapons are solely in the hands of the state.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisor's media office released a statement highlighting that National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi received the Indian Ambassador to Baghdad, Somin Bagshi. The discussion revolved around enhancing friendly relations and cooperation between Iraq and India to serve the mutual interests of both nations and their citizens.
During the meeting, al-Aboudi noted the effects of conflicts and wars on the countries within the region and globally, which have impacted their economic and development agendas. He emphasized that the government of Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has implemented significant and practical steps aimed at combating corruption and limiting weapons possession to state entities. This, he noted, is crucial for enhancing the country's security and stability, thereby creating an attractive environment for investment. Al-Aboudi underscored that economic security is integral to a nation's overall national security.
