Baghdad: The spokesperson for the National Security Service has disclosed several significant operations conducted by the agency over the past months. These operations underscore the Service’s ongoing commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities in coordination with the judiciary.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, spokesperson Arshad al-Hakim, during a press conference held by the Security Media Cell, detailed the achievements of the Service. He reported the recovery of over 93 billion dinars to the state’s treasury and the seizure of $14 million and 12 billion dinars, which were subsequently deposited with the Central Bank of Iraq in the first half of 2026.

Furthermore, the agency successfully apprehended 40 individuals suspected of being affiliated with the prohibited Ba’ath Party, dismantling two cells that were plotting against political and security figures and surveilling critical security locations.

The National Security Service also tackled 754 cyberattacks and addressed 2,740 accounts that posed threats to social peace. Additionally, the agency dismantled a network involved in manipulating land files in Muthanna, resulting in the arrest of 61 suspects and the discovery of over 90 forged files and transactions. This operation uncovered the misappropriation of public funds amounting to approximately two billion dinars.
