National Security: The Arrest of a Key Figure in Threat and Extortion Crimes in Kirkuk


Kirkuk: The National Security Agency in Kirkuk announced the arrest of one of those involved in managing websites on charges of threat and extortion.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Service in Kirkuk Governorate conducted a targeted operation after gathering intelligence, which led to the arrest of an individual considered to be a critical figure in the crimes of threats and electronic blackmail. This individual is allegedly the mastermind behind some of the most controversial pages on social media platforms.



Initial investigations revealed that the accused was operating pages that targeted a wide range of Iraqi society. The pages aimed at citizens, government employees, the Kirkuk Court of Appeal, several security leaders, members of the House of Representatives, academics, and doctors. These actions resulted in both psychological and material damage to numerous victims, impacting both men and women.



The National Security Agency has urged all citizens who have been victims of threat or extortion via the pages named (Kirkuk) and (Here is Kirkuk) to file official complaints with the appropriate judicial authorities. The Agency emphasized the importance of taking necessary legal actions against those involved to ensure they are held accountable in accordance with the law.
