Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, highlighted the significance of the Accountants and Auditors Syndicate in enhancing the oversight function of state institutions and emphasized the importance of improving the performance of accountants and auditors while safeguarding their rights.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency’s Media Office released a statement that President Rashid met with a delegation from the Iraqi Accountants and Auditors Syndicate, led by its president, Jawad Ghanem Al-Shahili, at Baghdad Palace. During the meeting, the President congratulated Al-Shahili on his re-election as head of the Syndicate and wished him success in his duties. Discussions also covered the Syndicate’s work and strategies to organize and advance the accounting and auditing profession.
The President underscored the critical role of the Syndicate in addressing challenges and strengthening the oversight capacity of all state institutions. He pointed out the necessity to enhance the performance of accountants and auditors and to ensure their rights are upheld.
The head of the Accountants and Auditors Syndicate, along with his delegation, expressed gratitude for the President’s guidance aimed at enhancing state institutions’ operations. They noted that the Syndicate has made significant progress in accounting and auditing to combat corruption.
