Baghdad: The Ministry of Health announced the destruction of approximately 385 kilograms of drugs by the Baghdad Forensic Medicine Department.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry indicated in a statement that the destruction committee examined the quantities intended for destruction and destroyed approximately 385 kilograms of drugs, 6,072 pills, and 9,818 Tramadol ampoules. The process was headed and supervised by Yasser Al-Khuzai, representative of the Supreme Judicial Council, with the joint efforts of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Border Ports Authority, the General Authority of Customs, and the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances.

Al-Khazai confirmed that the destruction process took place in dedicated incinerators at temperatures reaching 1,100 degrees Celsius. This high-temperature incineration resulted in the narcotic substances being reduced to ash, completely free of any trace of drugs.

The Ministry explained that this measure is part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts and commitment to implementing the government program, making the drug control mechanism a top priority.
