Baghdad: Israeli media reported on Sunday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump and discuss several issues, including Iran, while emphasizing the continuation of operations in the West Bank.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Netanyahu stated at the beginning of the cabinet meeting that he would depart for Washington on Monday to meet with President Trump at the latter’s invitation and to participate in the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, whom he described as “one of Israel’s greatest friends since its founding.”

He added that he would discuss with Trump “all the issues on the agenda, including the situation in Iran.” Regarding the West Bank, Netanyahu explained that “the instructions are to enter villages, search them, confiscate weapons, and arrest wanted individuals,” noting that “these measures have been implemented and are ongoing.”

He clarified that “Israeli forces entered a hospital in Nablus, where they arrested two individuals he identified as accomplices of one of the attackers. They also sealed off the attacker’s home in preparation for its demolition and mapped the homes of other accomplices in preparation for taking action against them.”

Netanyahu addressed the decision to dismiss the International Criminal Court’s prosecutor, claiming the decision revealed his motives and accused him of seeking arrest warrants against him and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to divert attention from his own case.

Netanyahu stated that he had discussed the matter with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who affirmed the United States’ determination to take action against the ICC. Netanyahu asserted that the organization threatens global justice and the right of democratic and sovereign states to exercise their powers.
