Mosul: The governor of Nineveh stated that developing the Rabia border crossing and controlling the Mosul Dam will enhance the flow of trade and improve the efficiency of border and customs crossings. Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil affirmed that the local government is proceeding with a plan to develop the province's border crossings and customs checkpoints by enhancing logistical services and simplifying administrative procedures. This aims to expedite the movement of goods and support commercial activity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Dakhil said, "The Rabia border crossing and the Mosul Dam customs checkpoint represent two key hubs for trade between Nineveh and other provinces and neighboring countries. This necessitates improving operational efficiency and providing the necessary technical and service requirements." He added that "efforts are focused on removing obstacles that delay procedures and achieving smoother traffic flow for trucks and goods, while maintaining security and customs requirements. This will positively impact market activity and investment, and reduce time and costs for carriers and traders."

Al-Dakhil pointed out that "developing the infrastructure at the Rabia border crossing and improving operational mechanisms at the Mosul Dam control center are part of the local government's vision to transform Nineveh into a major economic and commercial hub, capitalizing on its strategic geographic location that connects Iraq with neighboring countries, as well as stimulating import and export activity and supporting local development."
