Diyala: Hours after the dismissal of its Head, the Diyala Provincial Council voted to select Nizar al-Lahibi as the new Head of the Council. The decision came shortly after an absolute majority voted to dismiss the previous Council Head, Omar al-Karwi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the move to dismiss al-Karwi was prompted by the Council’s dissatisfaction with his responses during an interrogation session conducted earlier in the day.
