Baghdad: The National Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Regulatory Authority confirmed that it continues to monitor the radiation situation in Iraq around the clock, stating that all readings recorded so far are within normal background radiation levels, without any indication of radioactive contamination.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority added that the Central Operations Room for Radiological and Nuclear Emergencies continues to implement monitoring and preparedness plans in coordination with relevant authorities. Radiation monitoring and early warning systems, as well as radiation inspection gates at border crossings, are operating at full capacity 24 hours a day, with technical teams continuing to conduct periodic measurements and tests.

The Authority explained that Iraq is connected to regional and international radiation monitoring networks for continuous data exchange, emphasizing that daily monitoring and assessment operations indicate the stability of the radiation situation in Iraq and the absence of any risks to citizens or the environment.
