Office of Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Denies His Death Following US-Israeli Strikes

Tehran: The office of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad officially denied reports circulating in some media outlets about his death during the US-Israeli missile attacks on Iran. In an official statement, the office said: “In response to the published reports regarding the death of Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad following the missile strikes launched by Israel and the United States, we assure the public that this information is false and baseless.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the office issued a separate statement announcing that Ahmadinejad had expressed his condolences on the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Earlier, relatives of the former president had denied reports circulated by some Iranian media outlets about his death, as noted by the Iranian news agency Khabar Online.

The agency explained in its report that “following reports circulating about the death of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a result of a US-Israeli missile strike, his relatives quickly denied and refuted this information.” These clarifications and the official denial came after the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) had earlier reported the death of the former president.

It is worth noting that Ahmadinejad is a member of the Expediency Discernment Council of Iran and served as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for eight years, from 2005 to 2013.
