Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' approval of a project to establish a settlement road in occupied Quds, which aims to strengthen the connection between Israeli settlements, in flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the OIC issued a statement warning of the seriousness of this step. The plan is part of a larger strategy to annex the Ma'ale Adumim settlement to occupied Quds, effectively isolating the city of al-Quds from its Palestinian surroundings. This move is seen as undermining the two-state solution, a long-standing proposal for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The OIC reiterated its call for the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities. The organization urged the implementation of measures to obligate Israel to halt all policies of settlement, annexation, forced displacement, and actions against the Palestinian people that it described as genocide. Furthermore, the OIC called for the activation of accountability mechanisms, including the imposition of international sanctions on Israel for its repeated violations of international law.
