OIC Secretary-General Receives Congratulations from Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs


Jeddah: H.E. Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has received a congratulatory letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq. The letter marks his election and assumption of duties as the Secretary-General of the Organization.

According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Ministry expressed Iraq’s support for the OIC and its significant role in promoting joint Islamic action. It emphasized confidence in the Secretary-General’s ability to advance the Organization’s work, enhance its performance, and strengthen solidarity and cooperation among Member States to address common challenges and advocate for the causes of the Muslim Ummah.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to continued cooperation and coordination with the OIC General Secretariat. This collaboration aims to support the Organization’s objectives and principles, contributing to the enhancement of security, stability, and development while serving
the common interests of the Muslim countries’ populations.
