Ankara: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani met with Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey Majid Al-Lajmawi to emphasize the importance of strengthening energy cooperation between Iraq and Turkey. The discussions took place at the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara, focusing on energy, investment, and strategic projects.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting included talks on resuming the flow of Iraqi crude oil through the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline to the port of Ceyhan. Minister Abdul-Ghani highlighted that this development is crucial for stabilizing global energy markets and aligns with Iraq’s objectives to boost exports and production capabilities.
Ambassador Al-Lajmawi expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of Iraqi and Turkish authorities in restarting the pipeline smoothly after its suspension due to the February 2023 earthquake. He emphasized the embassy’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with Turkey to support shared interests and promote regional stability and prosperity.
