Oil Minister Engages with BP and ConocoPhillips on Iraq’s Energy Future


Baghdad: Oil Minister Basim Al-Abadi met with representatives from BP and ConocoPhillips to discuss the advancement of Iraq’s oil and gas sector. The meeting, held on Monday, focused on collaborative efforts to bolster the industry in Iraq.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Abadi welcomed a delegation from BP, including the company’s Country Manager for Iraq, Zaid Al-Yassiri, along with representatives Nader Zaki and Ariel Flores. William Arnold represented ConocoPhillips during the discussions. The Ministry’s statement noted that the meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, Naseer Aziz, the Director General of Basra Oil Company, and the Director General of the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Department.
