Geneva: The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday regarding the meeting between its Minister, Badr Al-Busaidi, and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, in Geneva, within the framework of the ongoing indirect Iranian-American talks sponsored by the Sultanate of Oman.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the latest developments related to the negotiations, in addition to reviewing the views and proposals that the Iranian side intends to present with the aim of reaching an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, based on the guiding principles agreed upon during the previous round.
Al-Busaidi affirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s unwavering commitment to supporting dialogue efforts and bridging the gaps between the concerned parties, in order to contribute to reaching balanced and sustainable solutions regarding Iran’s nuclear program and its future.
The statement added, “Minister Al-Busaidi is expected to meet today with the American negotiating team to convey the Iranian perspective and listen to the proposals and ideas presented by the American side.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced earlier today that the third round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States has effectively begun in Geneva, with a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Omani counterpart, Badr al-Busaidi, to discuss Tehran’s positions on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions.
