Baquba: More than 300,000 visitors have exited the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing following the completion of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a government source confirmed the departure of over 300,000 pilgrims who participated in the rituals commemorating the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein. The source reported that a total of 600,000 pilgrims arrived from Iran and other Islamic countries via the Al-Mundhiriya crossing, located northeast of Baquba, to visit the holy shrines.

The source further explained that the security and service plan for the pilgrimage was deemed successful, attributing this achievement to the cooperation between security and service institutions. The return journey of pilgrims is expected to conclude in the coming days.

Diyala Governor Adnan al-Shammari had previously announced the success of the security and service plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage. He highlighted the joint efforts of security agencies and service departments, which ensured a smooth flow of pilgrims to the holy city of Karbala while providing optimal services.
