Baghdad: Pakistani police announced on Monday that they had thwarted a terrorist attack carried out by unidentified gunmen on a security checkpoint in Janji Town, located on the border between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, police said that “armed elements launched the attack using rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons, while security forces were able to thwart the attack using thermal imaging cameras.”

They explained that they were able to eliminate one of the terrorists who participated in the attack, while the others managed to flee the site into the nearby mountains.
