Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani affirmed today that lawyers constitute the fundamental pillar in establishing justice and consolidating a state of institutions and democracy. On the occasion of Iraqi Lawyers Day, Al-Mashhadani extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to the legal community in Iraq, emphasizing their significant contributions over the past 92 years since the founding of the Iraqi Bar Association.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani praised the efforts of the President of the Bar Association, Ahlam Rashid Abbas Al-Lami, along with all male and female lawyers, for their vital role in preserving justice, protecting rights, and defending the rule of law. He highlighted the noble mission of lawyers as integral partners in building a just state and a strong fortress in defending public freedoms and constitutional rights.

Al-Mashhadani also assured that the House of Representatives is committed to supporting Iraqi lawyers by completing necessary legislation related to the Lawyers’ Law. This move aims to ensure that lawyers can perform their mission to the fullest, recognizing their sacrifices and their professional and national standing.

He concluded with well-wishes for the Iraqi Bar Association and expressed hope that Iraqi lawyers continue their immortal journey in championing truth and achieving justice.
