Parliament Urges Government to Expedite Popular Mobilization Forces Law

Faihan: Parliament supports the legislation of the Popular Mobilization Forces law, and the government should send it in the coming days. First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan affirmed on Sunday that the passage of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law is a fitting tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded, and the heroism of its men. He noted that the Parliament's leadership supports the enactment of this important law and urges the government to send it to Parliament in the coming days.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the First Deputy Speaker emphasized the importance of this legislation as a recognition of the efforts and sacrifices made by the PMF. The PMF has been a significant force in the region, and the formalization of their status through legislation is seen as a necessary step to honor their contributions.

The Parliament's backing of the PMF law reflects a broader consensus on the need to legally recognize and support the forces that have played a crucial role in recent conflicts. The government is expected to respond promptly to this call from Parliament and forward the necessary documents for legislative consideration.
