Baghdad: The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee convened today to deliberate on the draft law aimed at combating cybercrimes. This proposed legislation seeks to address the growing concern of information technology-related offenses.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee’s statement highlighted that the draft law is designed to safeguard social peace and the privacy of Iraqi families. It proposes imposing penalties for the misuse of social media and electronic platforms to deter potential offenders.
