Parliamentary Demands for Review of Provincial Seat Distribution Mechanism in Interior Ministry’s Training Courses

Kirkuk: Turkmen MPs have urged the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to reassess their national entitlement in Kirkuk Governorate. MP Kulsal Mohammed Ali highlighted the importance of Kirkuk’s unique national character at a press conference on Tuesday. She emphasized Article 9 of the Iraqi Constitution, which mandates that security forces should represent all components of the Iraqi populace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ali called upon the Ministry of Interior to scrutinize the distribution mechanism for seats allocated to Kirkuk Governorate in the commissioners’ training courses and the Higher Institute for Security and Administrative Development. The goal is to ensure equitable representation for all groups within the governorate.

Ali further stated support for the application of law without marginalizing or excluding any group in Kirkuk. She assured that they would closely monitor this issue and remain vocal about their national entitlement.
