Baghdad: A number of members of Parliament called on Thursday for the inclusion of employee promotions and farmers’ entitlements in the 2027 general budget law, and for a resolution to the issue of voting on the heads of independent bodies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Parliament’s media office stated in a press release that several MPs stressed the importance of addressing the issue of employee promotions and allowances, ensuring their fair treatment and the inclusion of their entitlements in the 2027 budget.
The statement added that the demands included equalizing the payments for farmers in Nineveh Governorate with those in other governorates, providing 300 kilograms per dunam, in addition to disbursing farmers’ entitlements for the 2025 season.
It noted that the MPs emphasized the necessity of considering the requirements of all governorates according to their needs, in addition to the importance of Parliament voting on the heads of independent bodies and preventing their continued administration without a vote.
