Baghdad: Tomorrow, a parliamentary meeting will be held with the Director of the Economic Department at the Ministry of Finance to discuss the sanctions file. The Parliamentary Finance Committee will meet jointly with the Director General to delve into the specifics of the Ministry of Finance’s communication regarding US-imposed sanctions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the sanctions target ISIS financing networks and several individuals and entities linked to Hezbollah. The Finance Committee emphasized the importance of obtaining comprehensive data, information, and documents to grasp the financial and economic implications. This effort aims to bolster the Parliament’s oversight capabilities in monitoring the financial and banking sectors, ensuring financial stability, and promoting transparency and compliance with existing laws.
