Baghdad: The Parliamentary Education Committee has put forward a recommendation to annul the recent decision to deduct financial allowances from full-time appointees within the Ministry of Education.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee convened to address concerns surrounding the deduction of fixed allowances. It expressed its disapproval of applying the deduction decision retroactively, citing an absence of legal justification.

The committee is set to engage with the Ministry of Finance to revoke this decision. Additionally, it plans to collaborate with the Labor and Social Affairs Committee to re-evaluate the amended Law No. 38 of 2013, which pertains to Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, to safeguard the financial rights of employees as per legal stipulations.

Furthermore, the committee deliberated on a proposed amendment to Law No. (8) of 2018, which focuses on the protection of teachers, instructors, supervisors, and educational counselors.
