Baghdad: The Speaker of Parliament received official requests from the Sadiqun parliamentary bloc to include two draft laws, "The Structure of the Popular Mobilization Forces" and "Service and Retirement of the Popular Mobilization Forces," on the parliamentary agenda and to complete the necessary legislative procedures for their passage during the current legislative session.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, these requests aim to ensure that the legislative process for these draft laws is prioritized and addressed during the current session. The Sadiqun parliamentary bloc is advocating for these laws to be reviewed and passed to provide a clear framework for the structure and functioning of the Popular Mobilization Forces, as well as to address issues related to service and retirement within the force.

The inclusion of these draft laws on the agenda is considered a crucial step in formalizing the roles and responsibilities of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which play a significant role in the nation's security dynamics.
