Peace Talks Between Pakistan and Afghanistan Fail

Baghdad: Pakistan announced today, Wednesday, the failure of negotiations with Afghanistan to reach an agreement for a permanent ceasefire, confirming that it will take the necessary steps to protect its people.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tariq stated in a post on the “X” platform that “the Afghan side did not provide any guarantees, repeatedly deviated from the core issue, and resorted to exchanging accusations and stalling,” adding that “the dialogue failed to reach any practical solution.”

These statements came after four days of talks hosted by the city of Istanbul, under the auspices of both Qatar and Turkey.
