Beirut: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sent a message to Sheikh Naim Qassem today on the occasion of his election as Secretary-General of Hezbollah. Pezeshkian emphasized the historical significance of defending Lebanon’s sovereignty, the resistance front, and the Palestinian people. He expressed confidence that Qassem’s leadership would strengthen the will of the resistance and continue the legacy of the martyrs of the resistance front.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Naim Qassem has been elected as the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, taking over from Hassan Nasrallah, who was martyred on September 27th during an Israeli raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut. Pezeshkian expressed hope for an end to the Zionist attacks in Gaza and Lebanon through the unity of the Islamic nation and the support of global consciences.
