Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Wednesday the commitment to strengthening the health sector, developing the pharmaceutical industry locally, and bolstering drug security.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani stated in a post on the X platform: “On the occasion of World Cancer Day, we reaffirm our commitment to improving the health sector and strengthening the performance of our healthcare system, including its infrastructure, through developing the pharmaceutical industry locally and enhancing drug security, particularly for medications for chronic diseases and cancer.”
He added that efforts will continue to solidify the health insurance system and the joint operation system for hospitals. Al-Sudani emphasized that the ultimate goal is to prioritize the health of the Iraqi people, stating: “Our goal is the Iraqi people, and nothing is more precious than the health of our people throughout Iraq.”
