PM Welcomes Expanded U.S. Oil Investments, Eyes Resumption of Turkey Pipeline Exports


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani reaffirmed the Iraqi government’s welcome of American companies operating in the country, particularly in the oil sector, which requires advanced technologies and developmental expertise. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to resuming oil exports through the Iraq-Turkey pipeline, as part of efforts to enhance Iraq’s role in the global energy market.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani received today the Vice President of the American oil company HKN, where they discussed prospects for cooperation and opportunities to expand the company’s investments in Iraq.



During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed Iraq’s aspiration to strengthen its oil production capacities within a government adopted vision aimed at increasing production levels and boosting associated gas investment, in pursuit of long-term energy stability.



For his part, the Vice President of HKN expressed his company’s interest in expanding its investments in Iraq, praising the available opportunities for cooperation in the oil sector.
