Baghdad: Police Commissioner Ali Fadel Badr successfully intercepted a dangerous drug dealer attempting to flee in the Al-Amel neighborhood, southwest of Baghdad. Using his private civilian car, Commissioner Badr executed a direct collision with the suspect’s vehicle, preventing the escape and resulting in substantial damage to his own car.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior released a statement detailing the incident. Commissioner Ali Fadel Badr had received an urgent call from an officer in the Intelligence Division of the Rashid Sector, alerting him to a mission targeting a known drug dealer in the area. Upon receiving this information, Commissioner Badr swiftly proceeded to the designated location to join the operation.
The Ministry’s statement further elaborated that Commissioner Badr was actively involved in gathering intelligence and monitoring the suspect’s movements before engaging in a high-stakes pursuit with the relevant security detachment. When the suspect attempted to escape through a challenging, narrow area, the Commissioner demonstrated remarkable bravery by using his private vehicle to obstruct the path, ensuring that the suspect could not evade capture.
Despite the suspect’s desperate attempt to break free, which resulted in a forceful collision with the Commissioner’s car, the security forces managed to subdue and arrest the drug dealer. The Ministry’s statement highlighted the Commissioner’s commitment to duty, noting that his actions exemplify the dedication and sacrifice expected of security personnel, even at personal cost.
