Amerli: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Saturday that the 52nd Brigade had taken over the Bastamli sector in Amerli from the Iraqi Army.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, official ceremonies were held in the Amerli district, east of Salah al-Din Governorate, to mark the handover of responsibility for the sector and security checkpoints in the village of Bastamli. The 2nd Battalion of the 86th Brigade of the Iraqi Army transferred its field duties to the 52nd Brigade of the PMF’s Northern and East Tigris Operations Command. The event was attended by the 52nd Brigade Commander, Ahmed al-Amerli, the Commando Brigade Commander, and several military leaders and officers from both sides.
The statement clarified that the handover process is part of efforts to organize the distribution of sectors and security responsibilities. This initiative aims to enhance integration and field coordination between the forces, supporting efforts to maintain security and stability, and protect the region and its residents.
The statement further noted that those present emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint cooperation. The focus is on raising the level of readiness and field control to ensure the implementation of duties in accordance with established military procedures and regulations.
