Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have firmly denied accusations that their leader, Faleh al-Fayyad, had prior knowledge of attacks targeting PMF headquarters and failed to inform the military units involved.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF released a statement condemning these allegations as baseless, emphasizing that they lack factual or evidential support. The statement highlighted the organization's proactive measures, stating, "Since the events began in the region months ago, we have kept all our forces on high alert. Two days before the attack, all units were instructed to take maximum precautions, which helped prevent bloodshed and minimize losses."

The PMF also addressed a specific incident involving the 4th Regiment of the 30th Brigade, which did not implement all necessary preventative measures, resulting in significant casualties among its members. An investigation has been ordered to ascertain the reasons for this oversight and to assign responsibility appropriately.

The statement further criticized certain political factions for attempting to exploit the situation for political gain, asserting that these actions are unrelated to national, professional, or ethical responsibilities. The PMF reiterated their commitment to protecting their members and preserving their lives, rejecting any attempts to use their sacrifices for political maneuvering.

Additionally, the PMF stated their intention to pursue legal action against individuals propagating false information or making baseless accusations that could damage the organization's leadership and reputation. They emphasized that any response would be conducted through legal channels to uphold the institution's rights and rectify the situation.
