Istanbul: A powerful rainstorm accompanied by strong winds hit Istanbul, disrupting air traffic at the city’s airports. Turkish television stations broadcast footage of several civilian aircraft attempting to land at Istanbul and Sabiha G¶k§en airports, but they were unable to complete their landings and were forced to divert to other destinations within the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the television footage also showed some of the damage inflicted on certain Istanbul neighborhoods, with trees falling into the streets, causing traffic disruptions for a period before municipal units mobilized to remove the fallen trees.
