Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid cast his vote in the general election for the 2025 Iraqi Council of Representatives elections on Tuesday at the National Center inside al-Rashid Hotel in central Baghdad. He called for active public participation in the elections.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rashid stated in a press conference on Tuesday after casting his vote that “the Independent High Electoral Commission and its supporting institutions have exerted significant and effective efforts to achieve this historic national accomplishment,” while also acknowledging the role of the security forces who contributed to securing the elections.

He further expressed a hope that the electoral process would proceed with transparency and integrity, urging the Iraqi people to participate widely in choosing their representatives to the new parliament to achieve important and dignified goals.
