Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi affirmed that civil society work is a national force that strengthens the citizen’s role in shaping the future. A presidential statement revealed that President Amidi met with a delegation of civil society organizations at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on assessing the current state of civil society work, exploring opportunities to develop its environment, and improving the performance of these organizations. The challenges that civil society organizations face in fulfilling their mission were also discussed.

President Amidi emphasized the importance of investing in community initiatives, stating that such investments are crucial for national stability and democracy. He described these initiatives as a fundamental pillar for building society and enhancing the citizen’s role in shaping the future. He highlighted the pivotal role civil society organizations play in mobilizing national energies, presenting quality initiatives, and fostering a culture of responsibility and collaboration.

The President conveyed that the Presidency views civil society work as a supportive national force that contributes to reviving the spirit of initiative and giving while deepening the values of social solidarity and belonging. Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the President’s support of civil society activities and stressed the importance of building effective partnerships between state institutions and civil society organizations to expand community participation.
