Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi and Speaker of the Council of Representatives Haibet Al-Halbousi on Monday stressed the importance of cooperation to enhance integration in institutional work.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Media Department of the Presidency of the Republic mentioned that President of the Republic Nizar Amedi met in Baghdad with Speaker of the Council of Representatives Haibet Al-Halbousi, in the presence of Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani.

The statement explained that during the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation between the Presidency of the Republic and the Council of Representatives, to enhance integration in institutional work. The discussion also covered coordination in the legislative field and the importance of completing laws related to the lives and interests of citizens, to provide appropriate legal frameworks to address their needs and issues affecting their daily lives.

It added that the meeting also witnessed a discussion of the general situation in the country and developments on the national scene, as well as a number of files and issues that require continued work and understanding between state institutions.
