Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has reiterated the vital role of a professional military institution in safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and enhancing its security.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Nizar Amidi emphasized the importance of a robust military during a meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad. The meeting focused on assessing the readiness and preparedness of Iraq’s armed forces, alongside strategies to bolster their capabilities.

The President stated that the military’s role extends beyond national protection, contributing to the consolidation of security and stability. This, he noted, is essential for creating a secure environment that facilitates Iraq’s progress in construction, development, and reconstruction efforts.

Lieutenant General Yarallah affirmed the military’s dedication to maintaining a professional approach and enhancing its performance to meet current challenges, thereby increasing its efficiency and effectiveness.
