Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, highlighted the national responsibility involved in caring for people with disabilities, stressing the need for integrated efforts to ensure their empowerment and the protection of their rights.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi met with a delegation from the Renewed Hope Organization for the Care of People with Special Needs. The discussion centered on the current state of humanitarian and volunteer work, exploring ways to bolster community initiatives aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities. The President underscored the significance of cohesive national efforts involving state institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector to safeguard the rights of people with disabilities, empower them, and provide an environment conducive to their active participation across various sectors.

President Amidi also highlighted the importance of backing community initiatives that serve the most vulnerable groups, with a focus on people with disabilities. He noted that such efforts reflect values of solidarity and social responsibility, contributing to enhanced social cohesion and the promotion of a culture of humanitarian work.

The delegation from the Renewed Hope Organization expressed their gratitude to President Amidi for his commitment to humanitarian causes and his focus on supporting people with disabilities. They affirmed their ongoing dedication to serving this segment of society. The meeting was attended by MPs Ayat Adham and Hatem Al-Zalimi.
