Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi has reiterated that ensuring the security of citizens and maintaining the sovereignty of the state are crucial national responsibilities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office released a statement following a meeting between President Nizar Amidi and Basim al-Badri, the head of the National Security Service, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad. The discussion focused on the latest security developments in the country, highlighting the importance of enhancing cooperation among various security agencies to address national security concerns.

The President underscored the necessity of persistent efforts to tackle threats to Iraq’s security. He called for heightened readiness and improved security capabilities to effectively address challenges and safeguard the nation’s supreme interests. Al-Badri, in turn, shared insights into the agency’s priorities, emphasizing the commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities and enhancing security performance to protect Iraq and its citizens.
