President Nizar Amidi Stresses Need to Enhance Counter-Terrorism Capabilities


Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi emphasized the importance of supporting the Counter-Terrorism Service and developing its capabilities during a meeting held at the Peace Palace in Baghdad with Lieutenant General Zaid Hawshi al-Maksoosi, head of the Counter-Terrorism Service.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office released a statement noting that the meeting focused on the latest security developments and the need to continue efforts to enhance security and confront challenges. President Amidi praised the Counter-Terrorism Service for its national role and the tasks undertaken by its personnel in maintaining Iraq’s security and confronting terrorist threats. He commended the sacrifices made by the service members in defending the homeland and protecting citizens, while stressing the importance of supporting and developing the Service’s capabilities to improve its readiness in fulfilling its national duties.



Lieutenant General al-Maksoosi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the President’s support and interest in the Service’s work. He affirmed the commitment to exert maximum efforts to enhance performance and carry out the duties entrusted to the Service with professionalism and competence.
