Baghdad: President of Al-Mustansiriya University Hamid Fadhel Al-Tamimi engaged in discussions with Jan Schneidov, the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Iraq, focusing on joint cooperation in academic programs and the exchange of experiences.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions took place during the opening of a photo exhibition at the College of Medicine, showcasing the work of Czechoslovakian doctor and researcher Vlasta Kalalova de Luti in the Levant. This event highlighted the historical contributions of the Czech medical professional who established a clinic in Baghdad during the 1920s.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, both parties explored potential collaborations in academic programs and the exchange of experiences and scholarships. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s “Study in Iraq” program, aimed at accepting foreign students into Iraqi universities.

Al-Tamimi emphasized that the exhibition is part of Al-Mustansiriya University’s strategic plan to foster partnerships with international institutions. He noted that the event would strengthen communication and positive interactions with Czech universities, which hold international rankings.

The Czech Ambassador underscored the strong ties between the Czech Republic and Iraq, highlighting the potential for enhanced cooperation in higher education. He expressed a commitment to participating in workshops, conferences, and other collaborative efforts to advance educational opportunities and scholarships.
