Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, reaffirmed Iraq’s full solidarity, both government and people, with the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for unified Arab and international efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. This came during his meeting on Sunday at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Iraq, Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, who conveyed the greetings of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and discussed the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Rashid stressed the importance of a firm and united stance to stop the ongoing killing and starvation policies targeting civilians, especially women, children, and the elderly. He also called for the urgent delivery of humanitarian, medical, and food aid to meet the basic needs of the Palestinian people.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Ruwaidi expressed his gratitude to the President for Iraq’s steadfast sup
port of Palestine, praising Iraq’s efforts in defending the rights of the Palestinian people in all international forums.
