Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, emphasized the necessity of ongoing consultations and meetings between the government and the Kurdistan Region to resolve outstanding issues through dialogue.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency of the Republic released a statement following a meeting between the President and Bafel Talabani, the Head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. During their discussions, they addressed the political, security, and economic situations in Iraq, with a particular focus on the Kurdistan Region.

The President underscored the importance of dialogue between the federal and regional governments to address outstanding issues for the benefit of all citizens. Additionally, the meeting reviewed the preparations of political forces for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The President further emphasized the need for all parties to overcome their differences to ensure the success of the democratic process and to fulfill the aspirations of Iraqis for a free and dignified life.

Talabani highlighted the importance of prioritizing citizens’ interests over partisan goals, affirming that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is dedicated to resolving remaining issues between the federal and regional governments.
