Cairo: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met with King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al Hussein during the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Egypt. The meeting aimed at discussing the enhancement of bilateral relations and regional conditions affecting both nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the presidential statement highlighted discussions on the relations between Iraq and Jordan, emphasizing the necessity to develop these relations across various areas to serve the supreme interests of both countries. President Rashid underscored the importance of expanding cooperation and elevating bilateral coordination, particularly in political matters, to ensure the security and peace of the region and its inhabitants.

The leaders of Iraq and Jordan also addressed the need for unified Arab and international efforts concerning the Palestinian issue. They discussed achieving a ceasefire in response to the aggression faced by the Palestinian people. Both sides expressed their unequivocal rejection of any displacement of Palestinians from their territories and supported their right to self-determination in establishing an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
