Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid congratulated the Yazidis on New Year’s Eve, pledging stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President expressed his warmest congratulations and blessings to the Yazidi community via the X website. He wished them a happy holiday filled with goodness and peace, marking the celebration of the Yazidi New Year.

The President emphasized the significance of the Yazidi New Year, expressing hope for the return of all displaced persons to their cities and homes. He underscored the importance of establishing security and stability in Sinjar and resolving the fate of the remaining abductees. President Rashid reaffirmed his full and continuous support for these goals, highlighting that addressing these challenges is a national obligation. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Yazidis and the heroic security forces in combating ISIS terrorism and thwarting its plans.
