Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi affirmed on Wednesday that Iraqi embassies abroad undertake a national mission of reflecting the country's civilized image, noting that representing Iraq is a great national responsibility that necessitates working to solidify its positive image.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office stated in a press release that President Nizar Amidi received Ambassador Ali Shamran on the occasion of assuming his diplomatic duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom of Spain, and Ambassador Krikor Derhakobian on the occasion of assuming his diplomatic duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the United States of America.
The President emphasized that representing Iraq is a significant national responsibility that requires working to solidify its positive image and strengthen its relations with brotherly and friendly countries based on mutual respect and shared interests.
He added that Iraqi embassies abroad undertake a national mission of reflecting the country's civilized image, which places upon them a doubled responsibility to care for the affairs of Iraqi communities, defend Iraq's interests, and enhance its presence in various international forums. He wished the two ambassadors success in their duties.
The statement noted that Ambassadors Ali Shamran and Krikor Derhakobian expressed their deep gratitude to the President of the Republic, affirming their commitment to exerting maximum efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and both the Kingdom of Spain and the United States of America, and to develop joint cooperation in various fields.
