President Rashid Affirms Strong Iraq-Lebanon Ties During Ministerial Meeting


Baghdad: During his reception of the Lebanese Ministers of Finance and Energy, the President of the Republic affirmed the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries. President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized the strong relationship between Iraq and Lebanon as he welcomed Lebanese Ministers of Finance Yassin Jaber and Energy and Water Joseph Al-Sadi at the Baghdad Palace. The President highlighted Iraq’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across commercial, economic, industrial, and energy sectors, which is intended to benefit both nations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Rashid pointed out the regional challenges that necessitate continued joint efforts and international cooperation to achieve peace and stability. He reiterated Iraq’s supportive stance towards the Lebanese people, emphasizing the importance of unity in addressing regional issues.



The President also mentioned that Iraq’s hosting of the Arab Summit provides a platform for strengthening Arab solidarity with a unified perspective. He expressed hope for significant Lebanese involvement in the summit, which would contribute to its success and bolster Arab cooperation.



The Lebanese ministers expressed their country’s eagerness to support the Arab Summit in Baghdad, acknowledging its role in promoting unity and dialogue. They emphasized Lebanon’s interest in expanding cooperation with Iraq across various fields, underscoring the importance of strengthened coordination.
