Halabja: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, affirmed today, Monday, that the establishment of Halabja Governorate is a historic step. Rashid expressed his sentiments in a statement, emphasizing the importance of this development for the people of Halabja.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rashid extended warm congratulations to the residents of Halabja Governorate following the esteemed House of Representatives’ approval of the law establishing the new governorate. He described the move as a long-awaited and just achievement, highlighting its significance as a positive step towards achieving justice and retribution for the blood of the martyrs who perished in what he referred to as one of the most heinous crimes in modern history.

Rashid further expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and its members for their decisive vote on this law.
